When we have a barbeque in the summer and invite friends, a nice aperitif is part of it. Yes, you can also buy a bottle in the supermarket, but a homemade aperitif is much more original and you will surprise your friends with it.

Are you looking for a refreshing and original aperitif? Try a home-made matcha sangria , such a large jug on the table provides a summery touch and extra coziness.

Your guests will probably never have drunk that! ;-)

Sangria with white wine and matcha

The big advantage of sangria: you can make a large portion in advance, then put the jug away in the fridge. When you serve the aperitif, all you have to do is pour glasses. Because as a host or hostess you obviously don't want to spend hours alone in the kitchen.

Conjure up a delicious matcha sangria with this recipe, and imagine yourself in Spain!

Supplies

  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of matcha powder
  • 2 limes, sliced
  • The juice of 1 lime
  • Green grapes
  • 2 green apples
  • 1 cucumber
  • Some mint leaves
  • 1 bottle of white wine (the sweet taste of white wine goes perfectly with the earthy taste of matcha, which is why white wine was used instead of red in this recipe.)
  • 1 liter of spray water
  • A number of ice cubes

Delicious sangria

Preparation

  1. Bring the cup of water to a boil. Pour a little bit of water over the matcha powder at a time and beat the mixture nicely with the bamboo whisk.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a large pitcher, then add the lime juice, lime slices, grapes, apple pieces, cucumber and mint leaves.
  3. Then add the white wine and put the jug in the fridge.
  4. Just before serving, add sparkling water and some ice cubes.
  5. Add some more mint or a slice of lime to the glass.<
