February is the month of love. When we think of Valentine and love, we immediately think of hearts.

That's why we didn't make a classic cake or cake for the day of love, but a cake in the shape of a heart with a lot of red fruit. An original way to surprise your boyfriend/girlfriend or another important person.

Because you know what they say: love (of a man) goes through the stomach. :-)

What do you need?

For the cake:

  • 5 eggs
  • 250 grams of sister (this is a healthier alternative to sugar)
  • 250 grams of self-raising flour
  • 1 tablespoon of matcha

For the filling:

  • 200 grams mascarpone
  • 300 grams of flat cheese
  • 200 ml of cream
  • 1 tablespoon of sister
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of matcha
  • Grated zest of 1 lemon
  • Some fruit like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries. Because red is the color of love :-)

Tasty cake for valentine

How are you?

  1. Mix 5 eggs with 250 grams of sister
  2. Sift 250 grams of self-raising flour and stir it in.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of matcha and mix well.
  4. Add the whole to a heart-shaped baking tin.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes at 170 degrees.

Meanwhile you make the mixture to put between the cake.

  1. Beat the mascarpone with a whisk until smooth, together with the honey and the grated zest of the lemon.
  2. Spoon in the cottage cheese, matcha and cream and beat until it becomes a thick yoghurt.
  3. Remove the cake from the oven and make sure it has cooled completely (this is very important, otherwise you won't be able to cut it in half properly)
  4. Cut the cake in half and fill with the mascarpone mixture and some fruit.
  5. Then you also finish the cake on the outside with the mixture, and decorate with fruit.
