The morning is actually a very important part of your day, because it determines how your day goes on.

If I skip breakfast and go out full of stress, I know that the rest of my day will often be chaotic.

Fortunately, there are plenty of tips and ways to start your day off right.

I collected 10 of the easiest morning rituals to start your day well and calmly!

1. Put the mobile phone and laptop aside

We live in a digital world, many people start their day by checking emails or social media. I doubt it will make you happy. So just put that mobile phone and laptop aside and enjoy a morning without technological gadgets. When you answer emails or check social media in the morning, you don't give your head any rest. Want to bet that your morning will be much calmer if you ignore these devices?

2. Stretch, because that gives energy

It's an easy step and yet many people forget it. Stretching lowers the stress level, when we are stressed our muscles can quickly cramp. If you learn how to best relax the muscles, this will reduce stress. Stretching therefore ensures a relaxed start to the day!

Sit up straight in bed, do some easy exercises and feel the difference. You will really feel much more energetic during the day.

3. Immediately open the curtains

A dark room does not encourage you to start the day. You would rather stay in that warm and comfortable bed. But there is a solution: is your alarm clock going off? Then immediately open the curtains, the natural light will wake you up and it will be much easier to wake up properly.

4. Make your bed

Yes it is tempting to get out of bed and then not make your bed. But a cluttered bedroom makes for a cluttered mind. When you make time to make your bed in the morning, it feels like you've already done something right in the morning. And then you just go to sleep in a quiet room at night. Do, huh?

5. Set up a custom playlist

If there's one thing that makes almost everyone happy, it's music. Finding your favorite music has never been easier, with streaming services such as Spotify you can discover music in all genres.

Put on a custom playlist in the morning, one that makes you happy. That can be relaxing music or cheerful songs that instantly put a smile on your face.

6. Drink a cup of matcha and water when you wake up

During the night, our body is busy with various natural processes. This way waste products are removed and the body is prepared for a new day. That is why it is best to drink a large glass of water when you get up so that your fluid balance is up to standard again. Hydration is really important!

In addition to drinking water, I always start my day with a cup of matcha . Matcha is packed with healthy substances and scientific research shows that it gives you a real energy boost . So you have the same benefits as a cup of coffee, but no annoying slump afterwards.

7. Set goals for the day and review your to-do list

Do you often not know exactly which task to start with? And is your agenda packed with tasks? If you briefly go over your to-do list in the morning, you will ensure peace of mind. This only needs to take 5 minutes, but then you know exactly what you have to do during the day.

8. Prepare your lunch and supplies the night before

Do you like to eat healthy at work, but do you find this a lot of work? A big tip: prepare everything the night before. Put your lunch and snacks in the fridge, so you can save a lot of time in the morning and have a nice breakfast instead of the daily stress! 9. Take your hot drink to work

I hear a lot of people complain that the coffee or tea at work is really not good. While a hot drink really helps to be productive and to relax for a while. I have a solution for that too, take a large thermos to work. Then you can be sure that you have a good cup of coffee or in my case matcha at work.
