Add a freshly made dip, some bread sticks or toast and you have a healthy snack for an aperitif. It is also the ideal snack for the TV because it is incredibly simple to make, and also healthy.
When I think of dipping sauce, I immediately think of hummus. This is without a doubt the healthy hype of recent years. As usual, I naturally wanted to give it a nice twist and went for a hummus based on red lentils and matcha.
Hummus is often made from chickpeas, but with red lentils it is really just as tasty and this is also a little less known. This way you can surprise family / guests in an original way! :-)

What do you need for this hummus?
- 100 grams dried lentils (both rinsed and drained)
- Juice of half a lemon
- ¼ teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon tahini (sesame seed paste)
- 1 clove garlic (crushed)
- ¼ teaspoon of sea salt
- Some pepper
- Optional: herbs of your choice (leaf parsley, paprika powder...) Here you can experiment with flavors to give your hummus a spicy or tasty touch.
You can eat both toasts and bread sticks with the hummus. Do you watch your carbohydrate intake? Then you can also dip with various vegetables (broccoli, carrots or peppers are ideal.)

How are you?
- Take a pan and put the lentils in it. Add water (Make sure they are submerged for 1 cm.)
- Bring them to a boil over low heat. Boil them for about 15 minutes.
- Drain the lentils and set them aside to cool.
- Add the lentils to the kitchen blender along with all the other ingredients. Just mix!
- When the hummus has a soft texture, it's done.
Keep the hummus in the fridge, so you can enjoy it for another three days. Any leftovers? Spread it on your sandwiches, toast, or add it to salads. You can use it in so many different dishes.
Enjoy!
