1. The classic: a spoonful of honey
Honey is probably the most well-known remedy for sore throats. It is such a tip that we often received from our grandmothers as children. Honey owes this to its antibacterial and soothing effect. When you eat a spoonful of honey, you lay a protective layer that reduces irritation.
Don't like eating pure honey? Then make a cup of tea with a spoonful of honey, some lemon juice and a pinch of cinnamon.

Ginger and lime is the ultimate combo for a sore throat. That's because ginger has an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, lime contains a large amount of vitamin C, which gives your immune system a real boost. This way you keep your body strong so that it can also heal faster. So this powerful duo works great if you suffer from a sore throat.

3. Thyme essential oil
Thyme is a medicinal herb that has been used for centuries for respiratory problems. You can make a cup of thyme tea, but you have to like the taste… For non-enthusiasts there is another solution: add a few drops of essential oil to an atomizer (diffuser).
Such a diffuser is a humidifier, that is, it increases the humidity level inside. That's fantastic if you know that the air in the house is often of poor quality. There is not enough ventilation, and we often suffer from dry air in the house, which is also an important cause of sore throats. A diffuser ensures that there is sufficient moisture in the house, and therefore offers a solution for an irritated throat. Another plus: it opens up your stuffy nose. one solution for several problems. :-)
