It's almost summer! Do you already have a new swimsuit, bikini or bathing suit to shine in this summer?
We hope you feel comfortable in swimwear. But this 'clothing' conceals little and makes some of us insecure. About love handles, stretch marks, buttocks… but above all: the belly.
Something many want and some have been working towards for months: a flat stomach. But how do you get it?
1. Be curious
How can curiosity help you get a flat stomach? Do some research to find out what it takes to get a flat stomach. Is that countless crunches? Only eat lettuce leaves? No. Try to find out what really works and what you can apply.
But… there are a lot of lies and misleading claims on the internet. To inform yourself well, you have to be critical. And often it helps to actually talk to professionals. If something sounds too good to be true, it actually is. Some examples of things that don't work or aren't true:
- Burn local fat
- Do not eat carbohydrates and/or fat
- Drinks that make you lose weight
- Foods that burn fat
- Just do abdominal exercises
2. Formulate a positive goal
I want a six pack! The ultimate dream. But often we come home from a cold shower. Unfortunately, getting such a six-pack is not that easy. Having a six-pack as an end goal often ends in disappointment.
Having a goal in itself is very good. It gives you an end point to work towards. And based on a goal you can make a plan. You know what you need and what you need to do to get to the end point. By breaking a goal into different steps, achieving a goal also becomes much easier.
We add something to that. Namely: formulate a positive goal. A goal you want to work on. Of which you think: yes, that's fun! Do you want a flat stomach? Or do you just want to feel fantastic this summer and enjoy a day at the beach? Focus on the positive, that's much more fun!
A positive goal is also realistic. The problem is often that we have a goal that is not at all achievable within the time we have. We have work, hobbies, family, friends, and sometimes children that we want to spend time with. Or circumstances simply make it impossible for you to work on your goal every day.
3. Eat sensibly
There are no miracle cures and you don't have to starve yourself. Yes, it's true that for a real six-pack you can only have little fat. It is quite an art to eat well, healthy and just enough. Fortunately, you can also have a flat stomach without a full six-pack.
So eat wisely. Not too much, but also not too little. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables for vitamins and minerals. And eat fiber rich for a good bowel movement. The better you eat, the happier your belly is. And that means less trouble with bloated bellies.
There are also all kinds of herbs and spices that can help you. Such as ginger, cinnamon and matcha. For example, drink our Skinny Matcha tea for support. Tasty and healthy.
4. Exercise your body
Train your body, not just your stomach! That is not only more effective, but also much more fun. Because let's be honest... you'll soon get tired of those abdominal muscle quarters. Choose an activity that suits you, so that it makes you happier and fitter.
An active lifestyle quickly ensures that you may lose a kilo, or that you feel just a bit more comfortable in your own skin. With most activities or sports you also tighten your abdominal muscles. In addition, you can of course do some targeted exercises for the abdomen.
You can also make these exercises fun. Do a plank challenge with your friends. Or a sit-up while throwing a ball with your younger nephew or niece. Or play with your children in the playground.
5. Be careful with salt
You need salt, but you can also get too much of it. Especially from salty food. Have you ever noticed that your stomach is bloated after a bag of chips? You notice that the next morning. All that salt has made you retain more moisture.
Don't completely eliminate salt from your life. Because your body loses salt every day anyway. For example through sweat. You get enough salt through normal diet, so it is not necessary to eat extra salt after exercise.
6. Sleep well
Sleep is so very important. Also for a flat stomach. Because of two reasons. First of all, because your muscles can only grow when you sleep well. And secondly, because with little sleep you often eat more and unhealthier. Your body needs energy during the day and so it asks for food.
In addition, your hunger hormones become disrupted with a long-term lack of sleep or stress. And you also just feel better, more positive and happier when you get enough sleep. You can take on the whole world! With the effect that it is easier to make healthy choices.
