Bullet proof matcha latte ? Maybe you've never heard of it and you can, because this trend has come over from the United States. The drink is very popular there, and you will also find it more and more in hip bars with us.
Bulletproof matcha latte is basically a regular matcha latte, but with grass-fed butter and MCT or coconut oil. It may sound strange, because why would you add a knob of grass-fed butter and MCT oil to drinks?
Simple: it is super healthy and fits perfectly within a low-carb diet and a healthy lifestyle. Many well-known chefs (including Julie from Julie's Lifestyle ) are fans of it, because it has several advantages:
-
MCT oil is quickly converted into energy because they are medium-chain fatty acids. It gives you long-lasting energy (just like matcha does). Grass-fed butter is packed with healthy fats that are necessary for a healthy body.
-
It stimulates the production of ketones, which are fuel for your brain. As a result, it leads to better concentration and therefore better performance. Do you still have a deadline to work on? Then a bulletproof matcha latte is definitely a good choice.
-
It curbs your appetite. You feel full and therefore you will eat less. The drink therefore fits perfectly into any diet.
You add MCT oil to all kinds of hot drinks (for example tea or coffee) and you can cook with it. This oil is a concentrated form of coconut oil. Combine this with the healthy substances of matcha and you really have an energy boost!
