In America you will find it in abundance and with us it is increasingly on the menu of trendy tea bars or restaurants. I am of course talking about homemade ice tea, a nice refreshing drink for spring or summer.
Many people buy iced tea from the well-known international brands, but it is actually better to make it yourself. This is as easy as buying iced tea from plastic bottles. Homemade ice tea is also much healthier because it is not full of hidden sugars and you save on bottles, better for you and the environment!
The secret of a delicious ice tea
A good ice tea is packed with flavour. Patience is the secret to a great iced tea. :-) Put it in the fridge and let the bags pull well so that a lot of flavor is released.
Ingredients (For 2 glasses)
- Fruit tea or green tea (loose or packed). You need tea tongs for loose tea
- A lemon
- A dash of agave syrup
- Water
- Some extra fruits
- A handful of ice cubes
How are you?
- Turn on the kettle, the water should not boil.
- Pour out the warm water and add a tea bag of your favorite tea. Do you make a large pitcher of iced tea? Then add several bags so that there is enough flavor. Use about 3 sachets per liter of water.
- Add the lemon juice (half of 1 lemon for 1 glass).
- Add a dash of agave syrup and stir well.
- Let the iced tea cool overnight in the fridge.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes, add some fresh fruit or mint for decoration. Pour the iced tea over the ice cubes.
